The past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind. Our time in the DC area was even more hectic than we thought. After three hours of consultations with the team who was supposed to help with Aiden's cleft palate, we found out that the surgeon we wanted to work with doesn't take any insurance. I haven't the foggiest idea why the receptionist couldn't mention that when we asked about insurance (apparently the clinic takes it, but not all of the doctors). So we're back to square one. Fortunately, we had the same surgeon recommended by the team in San Antonio and Aiden's pediatricians so we feel comfortable with this one as well.
When I got to San Antonio, the two months with Aiden seemed like a a nice long time, but it's amazing how fast the time has slipped away. It's already time to head back to Tajikistan for the remainder of my tour. I know it's only a month, but I've seen how much he can change in a month and know I will miss a lot. He's already starting to push himself up on his hands and is working on turning over. Thank goodness for skype.

It looks like I'm going to be pretty busy, so the time should go quickly. Then it's back to the U.S. and our adventure in New York City. I think Aiden is really going to like it. We visited friends in Reston, VA who had a baby shortly after Aiden was born. Aiden was fascinated by the tall buildings and we had to hold him lying down so he wouldn't hurt his neck trying to look up at them. I can't wait to see what he thinks of Times Square.
But for now... Hi ho, hi ho, it's back to the Doosh I go...
