Next Assignment

We've just arrived back safe and sound from our trip to the Pamirs and it was everything we hoped it would be. Everyone made it through in one piece, more or less, but there will be more on that when I get the full post up.

For now, the big news that I didn't get to post before I left (although most of you already know) is that I received my next assignment just before we left. In April of 2012 I will start as a consular officer at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow. For those of you counting months, that leaves a sizable gap between the end of our time in Dushanbe and then. That space will be filled with an assignment at the UN during the General Assembly in 2011. I don't know exactly what it involves, but it's one of a few highly sought-after slots there and I'm lucky to have gotten it. Lots to look forward to, but for now, I'm going to get to work on my pictures from the last week.
